Why did you decide to partner with Manyatta Cares?
I believe in the work that Manyatta Network is trying to do; as a +first generation in the African Diaspora it is often so important to have positive images and to be able to see ourselves in a positive light. I think bridging the gaps and connecting people and making connections are important especially in a city as multicultural as Toronto. On the BEAM side of things, I really believe that Manyatta offers a platform and a network of people that BEAM has not reached out to yet.

What do you expect the attendees to take away?
I expect the attendees to walk away with new knowledge about who BEAM is and the work that we are trying to do. Our emphasis on education and the vision of what BEAM is trying to accomplish. I hope attendees will be able to walk away inspired enough to want to help our cause or even to join the team.

What would you say to someone who has yet purchased their tickets?
Purchase your ticket and definitely bring a friend. I think its important for those of us from the continent and more to celebrate ourselves and Manyatta Cares is definitely one avenue to do so.
