Founder and Image Consultant, AccountableStyle
Director of Finance, CPA, CMA, ACMA(UK), CGMA

Tell us a bit about you.
I am both a logical and creative person and I have found a great balance between having a career and a passion. I have worked in finance for many years, starting in accounting firms, and later managing the financial functions of several other organizations. While a career in accounting is rewarding, I am also lucky enough to have found my passion in Image Consulting.
AccountableStyle offers personal styling and image consulting services. My goal is to help others discover how to look and feel good about themselves. My blog, AccountableStyle.com, is my way of sharing my knowledge with the world, providing style tips and musings on popular culture. Style is a very personal thing, and being stylish doesn’t necessarily mean being fashionable. Ideas and tips from magazines are great, but if they don’t make you feel like you, they just won’t work. When a client has a big grin on their face after being styled, and I receive words of gratitude for their styling experience, it validates my work. I have been lucky enough to work with great clients. That feedback encourages me to continue on with my passion.
Originally from London, UK, I moved to Toronto in 2011. This has inspired me to build new relationships, and to find out what I really enjoy doing. I have gained valuable insights and had some amazing experiences since moving to Toronto. I love engaging with others and in addition to consulting, I have also held events to encourage others to discover new relationships and experiences of their own. It’s hard work, but I’m enjoying it.

How did your business idea come about?
AccountableStyle was created from a passion for style and love of personal development. It’s my mission to put my stamp on the world by making people look and feel good. I really enjoy collaborating with the client to discover their style and to accentuate what they already have. Having fun is all part of the process too.

What is the biggest challenge your clients face? How do you help them address it?
The biggest challenge that clients face is not knowing what makes them look good, the very essence of their personal style. As an Image Consultant, I perform body analysis and wardrobe audits, take clients on personal shopping sessions, and undertake post shopping wardrobe integrations, all with a focus on enhancing the clients’ individual personal style.

You know the meaning of the word “Manyatta” by now, but what does this group mean to you?
The Manyatta group brings together people, where personal and professional relationships can be formed. It’s creating a powerful network, supporting individuals like me to realise their potential.
