RAMA CLUB is a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop, promote and sustain the Burundian community in Toronto through cultural activities. They will add a great dose of african dance to the gala. Aside from performances, RAMA CLUB offers Kirundi School dance programs and Educational activities through their network of partners and mentors They empower the new generations to accomplish their dreams and support what matters to them.
BREATHTAKING ENTERTAINMENT
The COBA Youth Ensemble (CYE) was founded in 2006 and comprises the advance dancers from COBA’s Children’s Dance and Drum Programme from ages 12 to 15. Ensemble members, are given the opportunity to build on their training and hone their performance skills through their artistic development, as well as building social and life skills through dance. The 2016 members are Tanya Allison (Apprentice) Smai Batson, Nyssa Duncan, Jenna Harris, Mandisa Jacques-Saburi, and Inez Pettrazini.
GREG H’SIDE SAMBA
Greg will make you travel throughout Africa with his high energy choreographies inspired by the most famous Afro Street dances such as Azonto (Ghana), Coupé Décalé (Ivory Coast), Afrohouse, Kuduro (Angola), Ndombolo (Congo) or make you revisit your 1, 2 Step with his largely influenced European Hip Hop New style. His talent could be spotted on various events such World of Dance 2011 or Black Canadian Awards 2014 and alongside different artists such as Audio PlayGround, Meaghan Smith and more.
THE OFFICIAL AFTER-PARTY
The After-Party, taking place on-site at 10pm will be powered by Perle Noire Entertainment, an entertainment company inspired and driven by the passion of African & Caribbean cultures. Our ambition is to enlighten and promote the African & Caribbean culture with a strong focus on French Creole and French African heritage. We are committed to providing high quality Afro-Caribbean entertainment here in Toronto to immerse ourselves in the multi-cultural mosaic this city has to offer. Our organization offers a wide range of social and cultural events including parties, concerts, workshops and more... all in the spirit of unity and helping to build a strong community.
